Using Saints Search

Using Saints Search

Below is a series of videos that introduce using Saints Search, the online catalog for the O'Grady Library.

Saints search can help us find physical items like books and DVDs, as well as electronic items like electronic versions of journal, newspaper, and magazine articles as well as e-video and e-audio files.  Additionally, it can help us find materials that are held in partner libraries in the Pacific Northwest.  On the following pages are a number of videos grouped to give a good overview of this very helpful tool.  Videos will cover:

  • An overview of Saints search
  • A brief look at how to use keywords in searching and how to tell Saints search and other databases how they should be related
  • A quick look at how to tell Saints search where to look for information sources
  • A quick look at how to use the date, subject, and format filters

Below is a guided notes sheet to help you keep track of your learning as you make your way through this module and a set of exercises to help you put your learning into action.  Both download as Word files.

(Also, a quick note, you may notice that some of the videos use "sharks AND environmental effects" as a search, while others use "punk rock AND women."  The videos were made in two clusters.)
