General guidelines for Criminology collection assessment:

Consider removal if:

• 5 (years of age)/3 (years since most recent use)/MUSTIE guidelines

• Copyright is not relevant for true crime. Classic cases should be replaced when MUSTIE factors are present. Cases with ephemeral interest can be weeded when circulation decreases significantly. Forensic sciences and criminology should be updated as techniques change or are improved. (Crew, 2012, p. 55).
