General guidelines for Sociology and Cultural Anthropology collection assessment:

Consider removal if:

• 5 (years of age)/2 (years since most recent use)/MUSTIE guidelines

• Discard as interest in the author or title wanes. Unless a book has an historical approach, the topic is usually outdated within five years. (Crew, 2012, p. 52).
